Women Participation in political rallies: Objections and Response

"Say: "Who is there to forbid the beauty which God has brought forth for His creatures, and the good things from among the means of sustenance?" Say: "They are [lawful] in the life of this world unto all who have attained to faith - to be theirs alone on Resurrection Day." Thus clearly do We spell out these messages unto people of [innate] knowledge! Say: "Verily, my Sustainer has forbidden only shameful deeds, be they open or secret, and [every kind of] sinning, and unjustified envy, and the ascribing of divinity to aught beside Him - since He has never bestowed any warrant therefore from on high and the attributing unto God of aught of which you have no knowledge." And for all people a term has been set and when [the end of] their term approaches, they can neither delay it by a single moment,  nor can they hasten it"[Quran;7:32-33]

The participants failed to consider following points:
  1. The local culture of Pakistani Muslims and society, which has variation in practice to the conservative interpretation of orthodox Wahabi, Deobandi, Salafi or Ahle Hadith groups.
  2. In local culture people indulge in clapping hand waving, not considered as dancing. "Mujra" is  derogatory term, insulting and far from truth.
  3. Dancing by girls and boys even elders at Mehndi is normal routine practice.
  4. Visit the social functions, colleges, universities, such clappings, chanting singing is normal. This  is the way society is, which need to  be reformed rather than criticizing political opponents.
  5. The media is fully displaying indian culture which is affecting the society, but the religious political parties do not raise voice but just pay lip service. JUI F has been part of Musharif, Zardari and now Nawaz Sahrif government. Instead of getting ministries they could force the rulers to change the media policy to bring it in line with the moral standards they claim. The PPP and PML n have similar participation of women in their political functions but JUI F remain silent, hypocrisy.
  6. JUI F & Co should use their political power to  get laws approved from parliament to control  women participation in political rallies. If they cannot do it then leave the government, should not play on both sides of fence.
  7. If some one is committing any sin he/she is  answerable to Allah, one can advise not abuse or force own will upon others by coercion.
  8. There are many more serious moral ills of society like corruption, bribery, rape, murders, non adherence to fundamental tenets of Islam like not offering Salah, not paying Zakah, not performing Hajj etc which need to be reformed but political Ulema just ignore them.
  9. Dowry, violence against women, Vani, child marriages,  non payment of inheritance to women are other big social evils but no word on it.
  10. JUI F and scholars should make efforts to reform the society rather than enjoying fruits of power politics.
  11. This is just an other use of  power politics for political gains to discredit PTI only.

Arguments For and Against Niqab (2 of 3)

Arguments Against Niqab: <<<< اردو میں  . پڑھیں ..  نقاب ، حجاب: قرآن , حدیث اور اجماع >>> There is no clear-cut Quranic verse or authentic hadith to the effect of making the face veil obligatory. The conclusions drawn by scholars are based upon their interpretations (human work) of practice by  wives of Prophetﷺ ( mothers of believers) and other women who followed them. The honourable wives of  Prophetﷺ are not like ordinary women (Quran;33:32), their status is much higher. Some instructions are peculiar to them, i.e they were not allowed to remarry after death of  Prophetﷺ. Other women may like to emulate them after death of their husbands but its does not become obligation for others. If the wives of  Prophetﷺ covered their face, it would only become obligatory for all other women if it was commanded in Quran or by the  Prophetﷺ otherwise it remains optional practice. The Second Sex by Simone de Beauvoir - Classic Book Summary

Simone de Beauvoir, the French existentialist and feminist philosopher, wrote, the book:: “The Second Sex”, in 1949 to investigate popular definitions of femininity. She concluded that those definitions had been used to suppress women, through the ages.  Simone de Beauvoir at the age of 40, was the author of several well-received novels but "Le Deuxième sex" which became the bestseller from the start, and de Beauvoir found herself the most controversial woman in France. S he began to realize that people saw her as Sartre’s inferior merely because she was female. When she sat down to write The Second Sex, she was surprised to find herself putting down the most essential fact of her existence: “I am a woman.” Although she relatively enjoyed privileged position – teaching career, university degree, movement in Parisian intellectual circles – de Beauvoir herself had never felt much of a sense of injustice or inequ ality. The Second Sex is not simply about the role of women in

Women in the Western Culture

The women in the western culture have always been oppressed. The women had to launch the movements, to get the rights. There are diverse social movement, largely based in the U.S. , seeking equal rights and opportunities for women in their economic activities, personal lives, and politics. Though one can not agree with the all the aspects of the Nazi philosophy, but the one good aspect was that, it advocated the role of women to domestic duties and motherhood. Adolf Hitler set up Organization in 1933, named as Hitler-Jugend  (Hitler Youth); for educating and training male youths aged 13–18 in Nazi principles. A parallel organization, the ‘League of German Girls’, trained girls for domestic duties and motherhood. Though women were not totally segregated but this philosophy did not have any negative effect on the economy, rather positively contributed in the social sector. The famous saying. “give me good mothers, I shall give you strong nation ” stands validated again.  House
